Kalkudah

Kalkudah, the Tamil name for a rock bay, is about 35 kilometers north of Batticaloa. Kalkudah Bay, one of the best beaches on the island, was carved out of Sri Lanka's eastern coast. This beach is hidden from the rush of daily life behind a line of coconut trees and mangroves. Even the northeast monsoon is unable to disturb its tranquility since a bouldery headland protects it from the storm.

It's the ideal location for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing thanks to calm seas and a peaceful beachfront. Visitors may get a peek at east coast life from the fishermen and enjoy some of the greatest seafood the region has to offer. In quest of more than just your two servings of calm waters and warm tropical weather? Visit Kalkudah, where both tourists and locals may enjoy the sun, sea, and sand.
