Bentota

Bentota, which is close to Beruwala and is listed as one of the top 10 beaches in Asia on the Forbes Best Beaches in Asia Awards 2010 list, is an excellent destination for family vacations. Five-star vacation resorts line both sides of the beach, while the Bentota River meanders through the region. But it's also well known for a variety of thrilling water activities, like windsurfing, parasailing, and jet skiing, in addition to its immaculate beaches

Visitors can access the nearby temples, nature resorts, and cinnamon farms by taking exhilarating river safaris along the river. A visit to the homes of two of Sri Lanka's most well-known figures would be a must-do event. Bevis Bawa, a similarly well-known landscape architect, created Brief, a 5-acre landscaped garden, while his brother Geoffrey Bawa, a well-known Sri Lankan architect, built his country residence Lunuganga in Bentota. A trip to the Bentota would not be complete without stopping at Lunuganga and Brief, both of which are open to the public.
